Most of my information I have only in Dutch. So for the English part of my site this is a bit a boring page. |

There is one thing though, that I would like to share with you. It is about a research project they have done in California US, at a university laboratory. The Professor is H.E. Lorimer Ph. D. It was about inbreeding. Mating related animals. Their conclusion was, that it had some very bad consequences for species. Such as: 1) they become smaller and smaller, 2) fertility decreases, and 3) a reduction in the effectiveness of the immune system, in other words a worse health. Why do breeders play lottery with the health of their animals, when you can reach the same with selecting healthy, beautiful cats that are not related? http://cc.ysu.edu/~helorime/inbredgen.html and brought together in an article: inbreeding |
